Accordingly, on the morning of September 12th, when labor pains began, Ms. STS (22 years old), residing in Nam Din village, Tan Tien commune (Bao Yen district), went to the commune's health station for a check-up. However, due to a previous cesarean section scar, she could not give birth naturally at the health station.
The heavy rains and floods also cut off roads, making it impossible for vehicles to reach and take her to Bao Yen District General Hospital. With no other option, Ms. S and her husband decided to trek through the forest and cross streams to reach Bac Ha District General Hospital. After 14 hours (from 6 am to 8 pm) and traversing 40km of treacherous, slippery forest roads, Ms. S finally arrived at the hospital.

She said that along the way, there were many landslides, but the strong will of a mother helped her overcome everything. Every step was a challenge, but she always tried her best to overcome them together with her husband.
Upon arriving at Bac Ha District General Hospital, Ms. S. was exhausted, with injured legs covered in mud. The on-duty doctors quickly performed an emergency surgery. After 30 tense minutes, a baby girl weighing 3kg was born.
