Model Hoang Thuy: "Even though I'm compared, I still respect my seniors"

On the afternoon of April 6, designer Ha Duy organized a Spring - Summer 2025 fashion show with the theme Golden Hour in Hung Yen. Model Hoang Thuy held the position of vedette (model who performed the closing show) of the show.

She impressed with her slow, graceful steps, in keeping with the spirit of the collection. Through her performance, Hoang Thuy was praised for her ability to control the stage.

Backstage of the show, when asked about the recent netizens often comparing the image of Hoang Thuy performing in Shanghai (China) with the head-hugging performance of another supermodel, she frankly replied: "Thuy herself has always been compared to many other models. However, Thuy likes the saying: "My biggest opponent is myself and the person who can help me shine is none other than myself".

As for the older generations, Thuy always respects them because they are the ones who went before, laid the foundation for the profession, for what Thuy and other models have today.

Hoang Thuy also emphasized that she herself cannot stop the audience from comparing her catwalk ability with any senior. "But Thuy will perform her best in her job position. Through that, the audience can see Thuy through each job and project, instead of comparing Thuy with anyone. Because this mountain is high, there will be another mountain higher," the model said.

Hoang Thuy also shared that, before participating in designer Ha Duy's show, she had just completed her role as a model in Shanghai, China. This was a professional fashion show, helping her regain her energy and style from more than 10 years ago. She felt very happy because the audience welcomed her.

The model expressed her hope that in the future there will be quality fashion shows so that she can continue to develop her performance ability and be remembered by the audience as a model more than a runner-up or beauty queen.

Designer Ha Duy's Spring - Summer show had a runway that was considered a big challenge for the participating models. The models appeared from the foot of the 50m high God of Light statue, moving 25 steps to go down to the square, where about 1,000 people watched the show.

Designer Ha Duy said that he and former model Ha Vy practiced and rehearsed with the models many times to ensure that no incidents occurred.

Miss Do Thi Ha and Hoang Thuy, who have a lot of experience conquering many catwalks, could not hide their anxiety. Hoang Thuy said that she was not unfamiliar with the stairs, but at this show, the 25 steep steps affected her psychologically. Therefore, she did not dare to be subjective and had to practice in high heels many times to get used to the stage.

For Do Thi Ha, she believes that the catwalk down 25 steps is the goal of all models in the show, so she turned her anxiety into excitement. Behind the scenes, she was advised by her senior Hoang Thuy to relax herself to be in the most comfortable state of mind before starting the show.

Do Thi Ha and Hoang Thuy, two beauties from Thanh Hoa, both collaborated with designer Ha Duy for the first time in important roles. However, during the nearly 1 hour show, not only Hoang Thuy and Do Thi Ha, but all the models did not encounter any difficulty in conquering the catwalk with 25 steps.

Ha Duy's show took place during the holiday, attracting about 1,000 guests, including many famous artists such as Miss Ngoc Han, VFC actors such as Hong Diem, Thanh Huong, Thu Quynh, Luong Thu Trang, Luong Thanh, Be Tran...

Designer Ha Duy's collection is inspired by the image of modern, dynamic women who are still full of energy after a long day of work. The 40 outfits in this collection are all office wear, with two tones of black and white, using materials such as chiffon, lace, cotton, taffeta and creating gentle accents with bows, prominent pearl buttons, and rhinestones on the neck, hem, sleeves...

Ha Duy was born in 1987, graduated from the Faculty of Industrial Design, Hanoi Open University. He participated in the competitions Vietnam Collection Grand Prix 2008, Fashion Star , Fashion Design Star 2013... and gradually became one of the leading designers in the North.

During his career, Ha Duy has organized 5 fashion shows that attracted great attention from the media.
