On October 16, the Ministry of National Defense held a conference to review the working term of Engineer Team No. 2 and Level 2 Field Hospital No. 5 based on the results of performing tasks in South Sudan and Abyei.
Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, praised the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department and relevant agencies and units for doing a good job of commanding, directing and operating the two units during the performance of their tasks.
"The achievements that the units of Engineer Team No. 2 and Level 2 Field Hospital No. 5 have achieved during their term have contributed to beautifying the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers and the image of the green beret soldiers to the people at home and international friends," Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan emphasized.

Reporting at the ceremony, Major General Pham Manh Thang, Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, said that besides many advantages, the units of Engineering Team No. 2 and Level 2 Field Hospital No. 5 also faced many difficulties in carrying out their tasks, such as the political situation in the area being often unstable, harsh weather, and many complicated epidemics threatening officers and employees of the units.
In particular, the barracks of the 2nd Engineering Team are currently located separately from the Mission Command Headquarters and are in the early stages of construction and reinforcement of the barracks, leading to security not being guaranteed.
However, overcoming many difficulties, units of Engineering Team No. 2 and Level 2 Field Hospital No. 5 have completed many professional tasks as well as ensuring security, safety, research, consulting, propaganda, mass mobilization and ensuring good logistics, technical work and life for officers and employees.
