Aro villagers celebrate the new sword festival

This morning, November 16, in Aro village (Lang commune, Tay Giang), hundreds of people and tourists witnessed the "buffalo eating" ritual to celebrate the new year of the Co Tu people.

The program was organized by the Department of Culture and Information of Tay Giang district, aiming to exploit and develop the new gươl celebration ritual into a tourism product according to Project 6, the National Target Program on socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, period 2021 - 2030.

Mr. Alang Men - Vice Chairman of Lang Commune People's Committee said that celebrating the new luong is one of the important festivals of the Co Tu people, evaluating the solidarity of the village community in restoring and preserving traditional guol architecture.

"Through the festival, we want to thank, encourage and motivate the members of the village who have made many contributions to the restoration of the gươl and the preservation of the beautiful cultural identity of the Co Tu community.

This is also an opportunity to strengthen the solidarity of the village community, share experiences in labor, production, economic development, preserve good traditional cultural identity, help each other progress and develop sustainably" - Mr. Alang Men shared.
