The series of articles “Promoting on-the-spot development in the struggle to protect the Party’s ideological foundation” by the group of authors Ho Cong Linh (Editor-in-Chief), Nguyen Duc Cuong (Deputy Editor-in-Chief), Dang Huy Cuong, Dang Vu Hoang Thai - Military Region 4 Newspaper was honored to receive the First Prize in the local newspaper block at the Closing Ceremony and Awarding Ceremony of the second Writing Contest “Protecting the Party’s ideological foundation in the new situation”. It is known that in recent times, Military Region 4 Newspaper has always paid attention to improving the quality of journalistic works, especially articles on protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation.

Over the past time, the Military Region 4 Newspaper has always provided timely, accurate, practical, and profound information on the comprehensive Party building and rectification work in all aspects of politics, ideology, ethics, organization, and personnel, creating consensus and trust among the people... At the same time, it has actively and proactively participated in the propaganda process to protect the Party's ideological foundation, fight against erroneous and hostile views that are close to reality. The Newspaper also determined to continue implementing digital transformation to contribute to fundamental and comprehensive innovation in the direction of modernity, multimedia, and multi-platform.

The newspaper regularly publishes works and articles that directly and indirectly criticize and refute erroneous and hostile viewpoints. The series of articles “Promoting on-the-spot development in the struggle to protect the Party’s ideological foundation” is one such work.

Talking to reporters of the Journalists and Public Opinion newspaper, Colonel Ho Cong Linh - Editor-in-Chief of Military Zone 4 Newspaper said that through this work, we want to convey that with the "eyes and ears" of the people, any plots and tricks, no matter how sinister and cunning, of hostile forces will be neutralized. It can be said that the strength of the entire people, of the people's hearts, is still the most important factor to effectively carry out the struggle to protect the Party's ideological foundation.

Colonel Ho Cong Linh said, “ Our difficulty in writing this series of articles is that the source of materials is limited. The task of sticking to the people to promote “on the spot”, through all classes of people to promptly identify and “neutralize” those cunning plots of hostile forces is done by the armed forces every day. A lot has been done, but the information has not been synthesized, and there has not been a specific assessment for replication .”

To write a work about protecting the Party's ideological foundation, each reporter must invest effort to research and exploit documents, travel a lot, and read a lot to thoroughly understand this field. Therefore, in this group, the Military Region 4 newspaper reporters walked hundreds of kilometers to border communes and mountainous districts to interview characters and collect documents.

There were trips that took many days, but the characters only returned home after a few days in the forest, and the reporters had to return, and only met them on the second and third trips. Through the forests and streams, the footsteps of reporters from Military Region 4 were present in many remote areas, at the borders of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri provinces... to see with their own eyes and hear with their own ears the sophisticated and dangerous tricks of hostile forces, stalking, whispering, setting traps, luring, and enticing people.

“The group of reporters from Military Region 4 Newspaper spent nearly a year collecting documents, interviewing characters, holding many meetings, discussing and discussing the proposed implementation progress plan. There were many adjustments and changes to suit the actual working conditions,” Colonel Ho Cong Linh shared.

Thanks to detailed planning and field trips, the articles have solid theoretical foundations, profound viewpoints and arguments, are topical and have orientational value...

In the series of articles, the group of authors highlighted the tricks of hostile forces, including the tricks of "stalking, whispering, setting traps", which are dangerous and sophisticated tricks, difficult to identify and detect, and have a wide range of operations. The subjects approach a variety of people, especially in localities that still face many difficulties, where people have uneven levels of awareness.
