According to PhoneArena , a newly discovered bug can cause the iPhone 15 to freeze during data transfer, causing the new phone to freeze with the Apple logo on the screen.
To prevent this from happening, iPhone 15 series users need to go to Settings > General > Software Update before transferring data from another iPhone. If you have tried to transfer data from another iPhone to the new iPhone 15 model and have not installed iOS 17.0.2, you may find your new device stuck on the Apple logo.
iOS 17.0.2 is available exclusively for iPhone 15 series phones
Specifically, the phone may freeze if, during the setup process for the new iPhone 15 series, the user chooses to transfer apps and data from the old iPhone to the new iPhone. If the user decides to manually set up the new iPhone 15 series device and download all the individual apps from the App Store, the user will not encounter any problems. But since transferring data from another iPhone makes things much easier, the user needs to install iOS 17.0.2 before starting to transfer data and apps, and the user will not have to worry about any problems.
It’s also worth noting that iOS 17.0.2 is only for the iPhone 15 series. It’s not related to the iOS 17.0.1 update that Apple recently released for all iPhone models from the XR onwards. That update fixes serious security flaws that could have been exploited, according to Apple.
