According to Dan Tri reporters on the afternoon of March 23, thousands of people flocked to visit the 3rd Vietnam Bread Festival. Many tourists were tired after spending hours looking for a place to park their vehicles to attend the event.
Traffic jams occurred early in the morning when hundreds of vehicles poured into Le Van Tam Park (District 1). Many people had difficulty finding parking as the festival time gradually passed.
The festival is organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association and takes place from March 21 to March 24 at Le Van Tam Park, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
At the parking area on Hai Ba Trung Street, many visitors had to wait for hours to park their vehicles at the event.
Mr. Truc (31 years old, District 7) and his family took advantage of the weekend to go out and have fun. "The parking lot at the park was jammed, I waited forever but couldn't get in so I had to park more than 1km away from the event. If I couldn't find it, I would have gone home, because I wanted my family to have fun so I had to give up," said Mr. Truc.
At around 5pm, the parking lot in front of the main gate of Le Van Tam Park was packed, with hundreds of motorbikes lining up all the way to Hai Ba Trung Street, waiting for their turn to park. Some people said they had to give up their plans to attend the festival because they couldn’t find a place to park.
To participate in the event, many people chose to park their vehicles at spontaneous parking lots around the park area.
"The parking fee is 4 times higher than in the park, but I have to pay. Otherwise, I have to wait, not knowing when I can enter the event. I parked my car in front of the park for 20,000 VND/car. We organized a big event but the organizers could not arrange parking for visitors," said Nguyen Ke Khanh (District 5).
Many vehicles are parked right next to the park area even though no one is watching.
Some people had to pay much higher parking fees to enter the event. "Normally, parking in the park is only 5,000 VND/vehicle, but today they also charge 10,000 VND/vehicle, and parking in the spontaneous parking lot next to the park costs 20,000 VND/vehicle," said Mr. T.
At around 6:30 p.m., the overloaded parking lot in front of the park was still happening, making many people tired.
Despite the difficulty in finding parking, the festival atmosphere was still very vibrant. Locals and tourists were excited to enjoy banh mi, participate in cultural and artistic activities, and learn about the history and development of Vietnamese banh mi through the ages.
With a scale of 150-180 booths, the Bread Festival has many attractive activities such as: Cultural exchange space, culinary experience; Exhibition area of documents "Bread past and present"; Bread feast with a special buffet of unique bread dishes from many countries; Setting a record of 100 bread dishes made from seafood ingredients...
Due to the large number of people coming to the 3rd Vietnam Bread Festival, people could not find a place to park their vehicles, causing prolonged traffic congestion on Dien Bien Phu, Hai Ba Trung, and Vo Thi Sau streets.
