Four years ago, instead of continuing to use dating apps, Jack Liu (now 40 years old) spent $1,000 (about VND 24.5 million) to advertise himself on social networks with the goal of finding true love.
He shared that his ads were “straight to the point,” urging interested women to click through and fill out a form.
Every day, he reviews the responses, contacts those he finds interesting, and sets up a Zoom meeting. If the conversation goes well, it leads to an in-person meeting.
According to a June 2024 Forbes Health survey, 78% of daters across the US feel "burned out" because dating apps don't meet expectations.
In the ad, Jack introduces himself as an entrepreneur, ethical and loves to travel . Facebook's algorithm helps him "select" potential girls, with the same interests and hobbies.
He had no idea that advertising would be so effective in helping him find the right lover.
Bethany Landby (now 36) from Boston, Texas, became the "suitable candidate". The two started dating in 2021. "What caught my attention was that he knew how to tango and had a lot of the same interests as me," she said.
After 3 years together, the couple recently shared their love story and attracted the attention of many people.
