According to the family, about 5 hours before being admitted to the hospital, the patient suddenly had difficulty speaking and was paralyzed on the left side of his body. The patient had a CT scan of his brain at the District Medical Center and was transferred directly to the Stroke Center - Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital.
Here, the patient was prescribed a 3.0 MRI scan by doctors, the results showed extensive damage to the right cerebral hemisphere due to occlusion of the right internal carotid artery. The patient was prescribed cerebral vascular intervention with the support of a digital subtraction angiography (DSA) system.
After 3 days of intervention, the patient was completely awake, no longer had difficulty speaking, left hemiplegia had completely improved, and was expected to be discharged in the next few days.

BSCKI. Luu Van Thin - Stroke Center said: "If stroke caused by embolism is brought to medical facilities early (before 6 hours), there will be many techniques and intervention measures to alleviate, and even completely cure the patient; especially now the intervention window has been extended to 24 hours from the onset of stroke.
Cerebrovascular intervention is a breakthrough in medicine that helps successfully treat complex lesions in the cerebral blood vessels. This method is highly effective, minimally invasive and has been proven effective in treating acute cerebral infarction. To achieve good intervention results and limit dangerous complications that may occur, patients need to pay attention to the nearest medical facility capable of treating stroke."
