The movement of making Chung cakes to offer on the death anniversary of King Mai Hac De has become a tradition and cultural beauty of the people of Mai Phu commune (Loc Ha - Ha Tinh).
From early morning, many people gathered at the village cultural houses to wrap cakes.
It has become a custom that in the early days of spring, when the death anniversary of King Mai is approaching, people in Mai Phu commune, Loc Ha district are excited to wrap banh chung to offer as an offering to commemorate the merit of the national hero who defeated the Tang invaders.
The movement of making banh chung to commemorate King Mai was initiated in 2014 in Mai Lam village - the land where the hero in cloth was born. Since then, the movement has become a tradition, a cultural beauty of each person. The ceremony to honor King Mai begins on the evening of the 12th, the official anniversary is on the 13th of January.
Every step of making the cake is done very carefully by the people.
This year, people from 7/7 villages in Mai Phu commune wrapped 1,899 cakes, which are a source of offerings from local people and people far from home. With their sincere hearts for King Mai, people in the villages tried their best, sending their expectations, showing their ingenuity through each cake to participate in the beautiful cake, delicious cake contest organized by the commune.
