People in Na Po hamlet travel conveniently on the newly concreted road.

Having the opportunity to return to the road from Phu Nhuan village to Na Po hamlet, Na Bung village, Diem He commune on a day in early April 2025, we were surprised because the previously narrow, winding road had been widened and smoothed with concrete.

Mr. Ly Dinh Quang, Na Po hamlet said: Previously, this road was a dirt road, then the people themselves concreted it but it was still narrow, winding, making it very difficult for people to travel. When the commune government informed us that the State would expand and concrete the road, we were very excited. To contribute to the completion of the road, my family donated 200 square meters of land to grow star anise. Up to now, the road has been completed with concrete, making it easier and more convenient for people to travel and transport goods.

Not only Mr. Quang, but all 15 households with 60 people living in Na Po hamlet and many people in Phu Nhuan, Na Bung, Khun Pau villages traveling along this road are very happy and excited because their long-standing wish of having a concrete road for convenient travel has now become a reality.

It is known that the Na Bung - Phu Phuan route, Diem He commune, Van Quan district, has its starting point intersecting with district road 50 in Phu Nhuan village, the end point is in Na Po hamlet, Na Bung village. This road was previously only about 1m wide, making it very difficult for people to travel. Over the years, local people have petitioned authorities at all levels and functional sectors to pay attention to investing in the road, creating favorable conditions for travel, production development, and trade.

Responding to people's expectations, in May 2024, the Phu Nhuan - Na Bung route was implemented from the national target program on new rural construction.

Mr. Dam Duc Thuan, Director of the Van Quan District Construction Investment Project Management Board, the project investor, said: During the project implementation, the weather was unfavorable, especially in September 2024, the impact of heavy rain after the circulation of storm No. 3 caused landslides in many locations. Along with that, the road has a section passing through rocky mountains, so the construction unit had to break rocks to open the road. At the same time, in the last months of 2024, the price of materials increased and was scarce, especially crushed stone, which also affected the construction progress. To overcome the difficulties, the unit surveyed the market, ensured the source of construction materials; regularly monitored the site, directed the contractor (Dong Bac Lang Son Construction Joint Stock Company) to actively implement the construction to ensure quality and progress so that people could travel, transport and trade goods conveniently and safely.

At the same time, the Party Committee and the government of Diem He commune have actively promoted and mobilized people to donate land to hand over the site to the construction unit. According to statistics, people along the route have donated over 12,800 m2 of land to build the road. With the efforts of authorities at all levels and the unanimous support of the people, in early April 2025, the entire route was completed with a length of nearly 2 km and a road surface of more than 3 m wide.

Ms. Hoang Thi Hieu, Chairwoman of Diem He Commune People's Committee, said: Investing in concrete and expanding the road not only helps students go to school easily but also helps people travel, transport agricultural products, and exchange goods more conveniently, thereby contributing to increasing people's income and promoting socio-economic development in the area.

Ms. Hoang Thi Xuan, Na Po hamlet said: I often go to the market to sell agricultural products. In the past, during the rainy season, we always worried about slippery slopes when going to the market, but now, whether it is a rainy or sunny day, people can move around easily.

It can be seen that the people here were very happy and excited when the previously narrow road was concreted and expanded. It is believed that from now on, people's lives will be increasingly improved, and the socio-economic situation in the area will develop more and more.
