As of 2 p.m. on March 28, many residents in Ho Chi Minh City were still quite worried because of the slight shaking that occurred in high-rise buildings. Fearing an earthquake, they fled to the ground to ensure safety.
Sharing with Tien Phong reporter, Ms. Ngo Thi My Hanh (a resident living in an apartment building on Le Dai Hanh Street, District 11) said that at around 1:30 p.m., she was at home when she felt a headache and dizziness.
“At first I thought I was dizzy, but when I looked out the door I felt something shaking. I ran outside and saw everyone in the apartment building running down the hall. Many people said they felt like their furniture and the apartment was shaking,” said Ms. Hanh.

Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Tam (an employee working at a high-rise building on Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, District 10) also said that at around 1 p.m., she was working when she suddenly felt dizzy. "I asked my colleague and she also said that she felt like she was having a vestibular disorder, the shaking sensation lasted for more than 1 minute," Ms. Tam said.

In addition to District 11, according to the reporter's records, many other places in Ho Chi Minh City also experienced shaking, many employees and residents living in high-rise buildings moved to the ground because of concerns about safety risks.

According to the Institute of Geophysics, at 1:20 p.m. on March 28, a 7.3 magnitude earthquake occurred at the coordinates (21.71 degrees North latitude, 96.02 degrees East longitude), with a focal depth of about 10 km. The earthquake occurred in the Myanmar area and affected neighboring countries, including Vietnam.
Also according to the Institute of Geophysics, at 12:56 on March 28, an earthquake of magnitude 3 occurred at the coordinates (14.659 degrees North latitude, 108.265 degrees East longitude), with a focal depth of about 8.2 km. The earthquake occurred in Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province.
