Bao Yen residents hand over site for 500kV power line project

The household of Ms. Dang Thi Xuan, Village 3, Mai Dao, has 350 m2 of land that must be cleared at 2 pole locations. After receiving compensation and being informed and persuaded by officials, Ms. Xuan's family harvested the trees and handed over the site to the construction unit.

"After receiving compensation, the family voluntarily cut down the tree and handed over the pole position to the construction unit to ensure the project's progress," said Ms. Xuan.

Similar to Ms. Xuan's family, Mr. Ly Van Hao's family, also in Mai Dao village 3, is cutting down trees and peeling cinnamon bark. Mr. Hao said that the family's area to be recovered at the foot of the pole is 300 m2, the corridor is 5,000 m2, with about 3,700 cinnamon trees that are 15 years old. After receiving compensation, the family proactively exploited cinnamon and promptly handed over the site to the construction unit.

“The land is for the construction of a national project, my family is ready to accompany me. I am currently cutting cinnamon and peeling the bark to promptly hand over to the construction unit,” Mr. Hao shared.

According to statistics, the Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500kV transmission line project through Thuong Ha commune has 24 pole locations built, with 11.2 km of transmission line. The land acquisition area is nearly 3.3 hectares, assets on land of 31 households; the restricted corridor area is 32.5 hectares.

Up to this point, affected households have received full compensation and proactively exploited crops, dismantled assets, trees, and crops on the land to hand over the site to the investor.

Mr. Ma Van Cuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Ha Commune, Bao Yen District said: "The people, in the spirit of propaganda and mobilization, are very sympathetic, consensual, and supportive of this project and actively cut trees, then harvested cinnamon trees to clear the site and hand over to the construction unit."

With the consensus of the people in site clearance, it will create favorable conditions for the construction unit to deploy items of the Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500kV transmission line project on schedule.
