Phuoc Ha commune has a total of 978 households, with 3,981 people, mainly Raglai ethnic people. In recent years, besides the bright spots in poverty reduction, the new rural appearance, the quality of life of the people has been improved, the ethnic cultural values are being preserved, conserved and promoted effectively. With the understanding of the cultural traditions of their ethnic group, NCUT in the commune always strives to find ways to preserve the good cultural identity for the next generation, helping the young generation to love, appreciate, preserve and promote the cultural identity of their ethnic group.
The prestigious person Mrs. Rau Dac teaches students to play Mala.
A typical example is Mr. Rau Dac, NCUT of Gia village, with the desire to preserve traditional music intact against the impact of modern culture and music, he has actively coordinated with artisans and schools in the commune to organize lessons on using musical instruments for art groups and Ma la playing clubs. Currently, he is maintaining the teaching of Ma la playing for students at Phuoc Ha Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, with 30 members; at the same time, mobilizing local clans and families to preserve Ma la sets, not to lose them or sell them on the market. According to statistics, up to now, the whole commune still retains over 20 Ma la sets; effectively maintaining art clubs in the village.
In addition to preserving the unique cultural values of the nation, the NCUT team also actively contributes to propagating and mobilizing people to eliminate backward customs, practices, and habits that negatively affect cultural and spiritual life, cause waste, and affect people's health. Mr. Chamaléa Tue, NCUT of Tan Ha village shared: In the past, when people organized weddings and funerals, they did it in a flashy, cumbersome manner that lasted for 4-5 days, costing several cows and dozens of chickens while the economy was difficult, having to borrow from here and build up there. After each event, the economy was almost exhausted and in need. With the motto of slow and steady wins the race, I encouraged people to organize savings and coziness in their families and clans to save money for business and investment in economic development. Thanks to that, many households listened and followed. After seeing the results, each family shared with the other, thereby creating a ripple effect in the community. In addition, local people also understood more about the harmful effects and consequences of early marriage and incestuous marriage on the health of women and the next generation. As a result, the village now no longer has early marriage and incestuous marriage. People are united and join hands to build a civilized and healthy lifestyle.
Mr. Ta Thia Banh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Phuoc Ha commune, said: Currently, the whole commune has 5 NCUTs. Over the years, the NCUT team has always actively promoted its role in propagating and mobilizing people to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; implementing a civilized lifestyle in weddings, engagements, and funerals to ensure selective inheritance; promoting unique traditional values of the ethnic minorities such as: writing, music, ethnic costumes, traditional rituals and ceremonies. In the past year, the local Raglai people were extremely happy and excited when the New Rice Festival was included in the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; there was no early marriage or incestuous marriage. This is a commendable result, contributing to the overall development of the mountainous ethnic minority area of Phuoc Ha commune.
