This morning, December 4, at Ta Lang Community Cultural Tourism Village (Bha Leê commune, Tay Giang), hundreds of locals and tourists witnessed the village entry ceremony to celebrate the completion of the new long house of the Co Tu people.
The program was organized by the Department of Culture and Information of Tay Giang district in coordination with the People's Committee of Bha Le commune, aiming to exploit and develop the village entry ritual into a tourism product according to Project 6, the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, period 2021 - 2030.
According to Ms. Briu Thi Linh - Vice Chairman of Bha Le Commune People's Committee, the village entry ritual is considered one of the important cultural features in the life of the Co Tu people, with the meaning of praying for peace and health.
The village entry ceremony, as a greeting, demonstrates the hospitality culture of the Co Tu people. Thereby, it strengthens the solidarity between the Co Tu village communities with each other in particular and with tourists and friends from afar in general.
"This is an opportunity for the Co Tu community to share experiences in labor, production and economic development, to educate their children and grandchildren to preserve, conserve and promote good traditional cultural values, to help each other progress and develop sustainably" - Ms. Linh shared.
Through this village entry ritual, the local government hopes that the Co Tu community in Ta Lang village will continue to exploit, build and develop the ritual into a unique tourism product, contributing to increasing income more and more effectively.
"In the economic development orientation of the commune in the coming time, we determine to combine the work of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values with tourism development. In particular, promoting the cultural values of the village, the good traditional festivals of the Co Tu people to serve tourists" - Ms. Linh said.
