Ly Son fishermen salvaged strange object

At around 1:00 p.m. on April 20, while fishing in the Truong Sa sea area, fishing boat QNg 96679 TS captained by Mr. Bui Ngoc Thanh, residing in Tay An Hai village (Ly Son) discovered a strange object drifting. Mr. Thanh and the crew on the boat salvaged the object and brought it to the Ly Son Port of Ship Anchorage and handed it over to the Ly Son Border Guard Station.

According to the description, the object is cylindrical, 1.94m long, about 18cm in diameter, made of plastic. On the body of the object are the serial numbers “BD:995723”, “00-9-2202-02-128” and the on/off symbols (ON, OFF). According to the assessment, the above object could be a device used in oceanographic, marine geological or marine environmental research.

The object is cylindrical in shape and 1.94 m long.

After receiving the object, Ly Son Border Guard Station coordinated with the Police Station and the Military Command of Ly Son district to work with the captain and crew of fishing boat QNg 96679 TS to collect information and make a record of temporary detention of the object to serve the authorities in investigating and verifying its origin and usage.
