Accordingly, at 8:30 a.m. the same day, at Cua Viet bridge (in ward 5, Cua Viet town, Gio Linh district), fisherman Nguyen Van Dung (born in 1973, residing in Xuan Loc village, Gio Viet commune, Gio Linh district) was fishing near the bridge when he saw someone jumping from the bridge into the river.

Mr. Dung quickly drove the boat closer and discovered a woman struggling, so he pulled the victim onto the boat and brought her to shore.

The person who jumped off the bridge was later identified as Nguyen Hai H. (born in 1986, residing in Xuan Ngoc village, Gio Viet commune). After being rescued by Mr. Dung, Ms. H. was encouraged by local people and authorities, and her family was contacted to take her home.

It is known that Ms. H.'s mental state is unstable. Unable to bear the pressure of life, she chose to jump off a bridge to commit suicide.

Previously, on the morning of November 30, also at Cua Viet bridge, fisherman Le Van Hong (born in 1952, residing in Cua Viet town, Gio Linh district) was fishing on Hieu river when he discovered Mrs. TT (born in 1976, residing in Gio Viet commune) jumping off the bridge. Mr. Hong promptly rowed his boat towards the woman and brought her safely to shore.
