Vo Quang Phu Duc (12th grade math student at Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted in Hue) is one of four excellent contestants participating in the final round of the program Road to Olympia, taking place on October 13.
The school broke its own record in the show Road to Olympia
Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted broke its own record last year, when it was honored for the 7th time to be one of the four live broadcast locations for the final round of the show Road to Olympia.
After 7 filmings, 2 students from this school brought home the joy of victory when they won the prestigious laurel wreath: Ho Ngoc Han (2009) and Ho Dac Thanh Chuong (2016).
These days, teacher Nguyen Phu Tho - the school's principal - has to travel continuously from the school to the live recording location of the Road to Olympia final match at Ngo Mon Square in Hue to check everything.

More than 1,000 seats have been arranged in this area to await the live broadcast on the morning of October 13.
Teacher Tho said that many students at school and people in Hue City were eagerly waiting for that morning to be able to light the fire for Phu Duc.
Reenactment of a part of the ordination ceremony
"This year is different from previous times because the program takes place in front of the historic Ngo Mon Square.
In this recording, we will partially recreate the Nguyen Dynasty's ceremony of announcing the imperial edict to confer a doctorate degree on candidates after the royal examinations, along with many special performances," said Mr. Tho.

Teacher Tho also said that these days, about 300 students are practicing their performances to pass on the passion to Phu Duc from the ancient capital.
"Before Duc left, the provincial education leaders and I visited and encouraged him. Everyone shared with Duc that we hope he won't be too stressed or focus too much on achievements, but rather confidently show his abilities," said Mr. Tho.

Mr. Nguyen Tan, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thua Thien Hue province, said that the fact that Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted has broadcast the final match of the Road to Olympia to Hue 7 times is an honor for the entire education sector of the province.
According to Mr. Tan, this achievement demonstrates the right direction in selecting talents through extracurricular activities at school, especially through the Red Laurel program with a similar curriculum to the Road to Olympia organized annually by the school.
"We are creating the best conditions for the filming to be successful. With Phu Duc, the industry has also directed and cared for him to have the best mentality to participate in the competition," said Mr. Tan.
Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted was established on October 23, 1896, and is one of the oldest high schools in Vietnam. This school is where President Ho Chi Minh studied during his teenage years.
