Recently, the Krong No District Police received a thank you letter from Mr. Trinh Dinh Thanh in Lak District (Dak Lak), expressing gratitude to Captain Dinh Van Giap for promptly donating 2 units of type B platelets to help Mr. Thanh's father overcome the critical condition caused by a stroke.

Previously, on June 25, as soon as he received information that patient Trinh Dinh Sy (Thanh's father) had a stroke and was being treated at the Central Highlands General Hospital in a state of severe thrombocytopenia, Captain Giap - a member of the "Red Volunteer Soldier" model of the Krong No District Police - quickly contacted and registered to donate platelets.

After receiving platelets, patient Trinh Dinh Sy's health has passed the critical stage. In his thank you letter, Mr. Trinh Dinh Thanh said: "My family and I are extremely grateful for the kindness of Comrade Giap and the Krong No District Police. I would like to take this opportunity to wish your agency, family and Comrade Dinh Van Giap good health, happiness, and to continue to help more people in difficult circumstances like my family"...

This is not the first time Captain Dinh Van Giap has donated platelet B. Every month he donates or when he hears of an urgent need, he registers to help patients.

Previously, on May 19, 2023, Ms. Phan Thi Tuyet Minh, Hoa Thang commune, Buon Ma Thuot city (Dak Lak) gave birth but suffered from hemorrhage and coma, urgently needing platelet B, otherwise it would lead to death. Upon receiving the information, Captain Giap quickly arrived at the hospital to donate platelets. After receiving 1 unit of platelets but the patient still showed no signs of recovery, Captain Giap disregarded the danger and donated another unit of platelets to save the patient. Because according to regulations, the minimum time between 2 platelet donations is 4 weeks. After promptly receiving 2 units of platelets, the patient overcame the critical condition and regained consciousness.

Moved by Captain Giap's bravery, Phan Thi Tuyet Minh's family wrote a thank you letter and spread the story "Serving the People" on social networks, which was highly appreciated by public opinion.

Captain Dinh Van Giap shared: “Patients who need platelets are all in extremely critical situations and their lives are hanging by a thread. Participating in voluntary blood and platelet donation to help those who need blood and platelets makes me very happy and, most of all, spreads good values. Seeing patients overcome critical situations and be safe makes me very happy.”

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thanh Tuan, Chief of Krong No District Police, assessed that Captain Dinh Van Giap was not only energetic and enthusiastic in all activities and tasks, but was also one of many active members in the skillful mass mobilization model "Red Volunteer Soldier" of Krong No District Police, many times participating in donating blood and platelets to promptly save patients from critical conditions.
