On the afternoon of October 29, information from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Da Nang City Police said that professional rescue forces had just rescued a male Russian tourist at a waterfall in Hoa Bac commune, Hoa Vang district.
At 2:30 p.m. the same day (October 29), Information Center 114 received a report from local residents that a foreigner was trapped at a high waterfall in the Suoi Mo area.
This tourist went to explore the Suoi Mo area alone, while climbing up to explore the waterfall, he got stuck. Luckily, a local discovered him and called the police.
Immediately, the 114 Information Center mobilized the Hoa Vang District Police to dispatch 1 rescue vehicle, at the same time the Lien Chieu District Police and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Da Nang City Police dispatched 2 rescue vehicles, and mobilized dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene.
Rescue forces determined that after the male tourist climbed the waterfall and crawled into the rock cavity, a large amount of water poured down from upstream, blocking his path, so he could not get out as he had originally planned.
After approaching the Mo stream area, following the instructions of local people, the fire prevention and rescue team determined that the male tourist was trapped in a rocky cavity in the middle of a precarious waterfall. Therefore, the professional rescue team had to travel more than 1 km through the forest to get closer to the scene.

Determining that the place where the tourists were trapped was very dangerous, the waterfall was flowing fast and was very difficult to access, so the rescue team leader came up with a plan to send a team to cross the waterfall, and use a rope to rescue themselves using a self-arresting Pet device. The rescue was carried out very urgently, because the tourists had been trapped in the waterfall for a long time and their health was affected.
Fire and rescue forces used ropes to reach and rescue the male tourist.
After nearly 30 minutes of approaching and deploying a rescue plan, the professional rescue team brought the male tourist out safely.
