The golden generation of theater names attended the exchange on April 17, at Ho Chi Minh City Television. A decade ago, the show was broadcast based on the idea of director Nguyen Minh Hai, aiming to celebrate April 30. Through 680 episodes, the event has become a weekly meeting place, an opportunity for artists to meet and honor folk culture and traditions.
"The diva" Kim Cuong said that when mentioning the show, the artist remembered her mother - Mrs. Bay Nam - and the thoughts the late artist shared. During her lifetime, Mrs. Bay Nam often did charity work in secret. When her mother passed away, Kim Cuong opened a drawer and found receipts from charity organizations. She did not sign her real name but used the names of the characters she played, because she wanted to remain anonymous.
"The program became an information channel, helping me to send my mother's thoughts about charity work to the audience. Since then, a scholarship fund named after my mother was established to support children of actors and backstage workers with difficult circumstances to go to school. Many of them later passed exams and became engineers and doctors," said Kim Cuong.
"Producer" Hong Van said there was a time when she had difficulty taking on losses on two stages at the same time, SuperBowl and Phu Nhuan. Thanks to director Thanh Hiep - MC and scriptwriter for the show, Hong Van had the opportunity to introduce more good plays to the audience, helping the stage develop steadily. "Up to now, despite many difficulties, we have escaped the situation of losing money because we have enthusiastic collaborators for drama like that," she said.
Actress Kim Xuan said she was impressed with the numbers revolving around the theme of traditional music . She remembered once hearing the late professor Tran Van Khe discuss about Da co hoai lang , absorbs knowledge from the way he sings, analyzes the differences between the original and many current versions.
Kim Xuan hopes that in the future, the program will delve deeper into the behind-the-scenes of drama, so that the audience can follow the process of actors transforming into characters. Director Thanh Hiep said that entering the 11th year, the crew will have more commentary on cultural and artistic events, while spreading the love of traditional singing and theater to young audiences through conversations with guests.
