On February 21, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung signed Decision No. 374/QD-BVHTTDL on announcing the List of national intangible cultural heritage.
Accordingly, the Decision to include the Traditional Craft "Tuy Loan Rice Paper Making" in Hoa Phong Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang City in the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, within the scope of his duties and powers, shall carry out state management in accordance with the provisions of the law on cultural heritage for the Traditional Craft "Tuy Loan Rice Paper Making".

The Tuy Loan rice paper making profession has a long history. Currently, in Hoa Phong commune, Hoa Vang district, there are 15 households maintaining the traditional rice paper making profession, mainly concentrated in Tuy Loan village.
This craft village connects many cultural and heritage values with the ancient village of Tuy Loan - where there is Tuy Loan communal house with a history of over 500 years.
Every Lunar New Year, over 40 households in Hoa Phong commune participate in making rice paper to meet the demand for rice paper in the market. Currently, Tuy Loan rice paper has been copyrighted.

Hoa Vang district has developed a project to restore the craft village, supporting people with preferential loans to invest in making cakes. The locality's desire is to combine the restoration and development of the craft village with sightseeing tours and real-life experiences in the village.
Tuy Loan rice paper is made entirely by hand and the villagers only make one type of grilled rice paper. To make a rice paper, it must go through many different stages, each stage requires the worker to be experienced and proficient.

Tuy Loan rice paper is mainly made from rice flour and other ingredients such as sesame (white sesame), ginger, garlic, sugar, fish sauce, salt..., creating a unique flavor for the rice paper.

The fact that the traditional craft village of Tuy Loan rice paper making was listed in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List has created more buzz for a centuries-old craft village in Da Nang, and is also an essential condition for the locality to continue to preserve, maintain and further promote the value of this craft village.
