* On March 2nd, at the Government Headquarters, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , the Government held its regular monthly meeting for February 2024 to assess the socio-economic situation in February and the first two months of 2024; the situation regarding the allocation and disbursement of public investment capital; and the implementation of three national target programs.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the thorough preparation of the reports by ministries, sectors, and agencies; he acknowledged and agreed with the frank, responsible, and practical opinions of the Government members and delegates attending the meeting, aiming to focus on the decisive and effective implementation of key tasks, creating momentum for breakthrough development in 2024.The Prime Minister affirmed that, overall, in the first two months of 2024, most sectors achieved better results compared to the same period in 2023, creating momentum, impetus, enthusiasm, and new inspiration for the entire political system, businesses, and people to promote the completion of socio-economic development tasks in 2024 and the coming period.

* During his working visit to the western districts, on the morning of March 2nd, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De visited and congratulated the people of Lau village, Chau Ly commune (Quy Hop district) at the ceremony announcing the village's achievement of new rural standards.
Ban Lau village covers an area of approximately 227 hectares, with 72 households and 341 inhabitants from three ethnic groups: Kinh, Thai, and Tho. The Kinh ethnic group accounts for over 95% of the population, mainly consisting of people originally from Nghi Thai commune (Nghi Loc district) who came to build their new homeland.To achieve the new rural standard, officials and people of Lau village have leveraged the strength of unity and internal resources within the community. In two years (2022-2023), the people of Lau village contributed over 600 million VND and more than 600 man-days of labor to concrete nearly 5 km of village roads and nearly 3 km of irrigation canals.
In 2023, the estimated average per capita income reached 42.89 million VND/year. During the year, 4 households escaped poverty, and the current poverty rate in the village is 9.72%.

* To implement the 2024 work program, on the morning of March 2nd, in Vinh City (Nghe An province), the Management Board of the economic zones and industrial parks of 6 provinces in the North Central region held a meeting to summarize the emulation and reward work in 2023 and launch the emulation movement for 2024.
At the conference, in the spirit of exchanging and sharing experiences, the management boards of economic zones and industrial parks in the North Central provinces presented their opinions and suggestions, and agreed on the key tasks for the 2024 emulation campaign. The focus is on strengthening investment promotion; concentrating on coordinating with local authorities to expedite compensation and land clearance for investment projects in economic zones and industrial parks, especially large and important projects; and continuing to research and effectively implement Government Decree No. 35/2022/ND-CP on the management of industrial parks and economic zones...
For nearly a week now, in Nghe An province, temperatures have dropped sharply due to the influence of a verstärkt cold front. On March 1st and 2nd, in mountainous districts, temperatures sometimes fell below 10 degrees Celsius, resulting in severe cold weather. People have had to find ways to cope with and protect crops and livestock from the cold and hunger.
* Today (March 2nd), more than 1,300 ninth-grade students participated in the Nghe An Provincial Excellent Student Selection Exam.
This year's provincial-level excellent student competition for 9th graders was held at Ha Huy Tap High School (Vinh City). 1,345 students participated, competing in 11 subjects and divided into two groups (Group A and Group B).Specifically, Group A will include candidates from Vinh City and the lowland and lowland districts. Group B is for students from the highland districts of Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Que Phong, Ky Son, and Quy Chau.

* The Hang Bua Festival in 2024 took place over three days, from February 29th to March 2nd, in Bua village, Chau Tien commune, Quy Chau district (Nghe An province). It is estimated that tens of thousands of visitors attended the festival during this period.
At the festival, a female student from Vinh University won first prize in the "Beauty of Hang Bua Cave" contest.
