2. Lunar New Year Holiday Schedule 2024
Pursuant to Notice 5015/TB-LĐTBXH in 2023, the Lunar New Year holiday schedule in 2024 is as follows:
2.1. Lunar New Year holiday schedule 2024 for cadres, civil servants and public employees
Officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, and socio-political organizations will have the Lunar New Year holiday in 2024 from Thursday, February 8, 2024 (ie December 29, Quy Mao year) to Wednesday, February 14, 2024 (ie January 5, Giap Thin year).
This holiday includes 05 days off for Lunar New Year and 02 days off in lieu of weekly holidays as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code.

2.2. Lunar New Year holiday schedule 2024 for employees
For private sector employees, employers decide to choose the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday plan as follows:
- Choose 01 last day of the year of Quy Mao and 04 first days of the year of Giap Thin or 02 last days of the year of Quy Mao and 03 first days of the year of Giap Thin or 03 last days of the year of Quy Mao and 02 first days of the year of Giap Thin.
- Notify employees of the Lunar New Year holiday plan at least 30 days before implementation.
- If the weekly day off coincides with the Tet holiday prescribed in Clause 1, Article 112 of the 2019 Labor Code, the employee is entitled to take a compensatory weekly day off on the next working day as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 111 of the 2019 Labor Code.
- Encourage employers to apply Lunar New Year holidays for employees as prescribed for civil servants and public employees.
3. New Year Holiday Schedule 2024
According to point a, clause 1, Article 112 of the 2019 Labor Code, on New Year's Day, employees will have 1 day off (January 1st of the solar calendar).
New Year 2024 (January 1, 2024) falls on Monday, so the New Year 2024 holiday schedule is as follows:
- For cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers with weekly days off on Saturday and Sunday: New Year 2024 will have 3 consecutive days off (from December 30, 2023 to January 1, 2024).
- For employees with weekly Sunday off: New Year 2024 will have 2 consecutive days off (from December 31, 2023 to January 1, 2024).
4. Will employees receive bonuses for New Year 2024 and Lunar New Year 2024?
Article 104 of the 2019 Labor Code stipulates bonuses as follows:

Bonus is the amount of money or property or other forms that the employer rewards the employee based on the production and business results and the employee's level of work completion. 2.
