Based on the actual situation, units have implemented many measures, especially strictly maintaining "technical days" to contribute to ensuring traffic safety for officers and soldiers.
Most of the soldiers of Nghe An Provincial Border Guard are assigned to basic units and Border Guard stations on the two land and coastal borders. Due to the large area and scattered population, many soldiers often have to use vehicles such as motorbikes and personal cars to carry out their duties. Meanwhile, the traffic routes in the border area are dangerous and difficult, and the awareness of traffic law compliance of a part of the population is limited... The above causes pose a potential risk to the safety of officers and soldiers when they are on the move to carry out their duties. Based on the actual situation, the Party Committee and Command of Nghe An Provincial Border Guard have proposed many solutions, requiring units and Border Guard stations to strictly ensure traffic safety for soldiers.

First of all, the units regularly, in-depth and effectively carry out political and ideological education for soldiers. Focus on guiding officers and soldiers to comply with the law, discipline and measures to ensure traffic safety. Build internal solidarity, promote the spirit of reminding each other to raise awareness of self-awareness to ensure safety in all aspects during the performance of tasks and daily life. The Border Guard Station Command maintains the management of soldiers in accordance with military discipline. Working groups and soldiers must have a work plan, and in the event of an emergency mission, they must report to the unit commander for direct instruction.

For many years, the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard has regularly and seriously implemented the "technical day" from the agency to the grassroots units and Border Guard stations. According to the regulations of the Nghe An Border Guard, the "technical day" is implemented by the agencies and departments under the Command on Thursdays, and the units and Border Guard stations on Wednesdays every week. Implementing the "technical day", every week, the commanders of the units will preside over and work with specialized officers to inspect the technical factors of vehicles, machinery, and equipment to ensure traffic safety of the unit and individuals. On that basis, propagate and remind soldiers to strictly comply with the provisions of the law and the internal regulations of the unit.
Specifically, the driver and the soldier sitting behind the motorbike must wear a helmet of the right quality, with a hood. The unit's command is determined not to let any soldier drive any vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or beer. Timely grasp information and correct cases with potential signs of violating discipline and traffic safety.

Assigned to manage a long border section, a large area, covered by fog all year round, and roads that are often wet and slippery, some working groups are "camped" in remote residential areas. Faced with that reality, the Command Board of Na Ngoi Station always focuses on ensuring the safety of officers and soldiers. Major Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Political Commissar of Na Ngoi Border Guard Station, said: "Due to the requirements of the mission, the characteristics of the terrain and population, most soldiers in the unit have to use personal motorbikes for convenience in maneuvering. We regularly educate officers and soldiers to strictly implement safety measures in all aspects, including ensuring traffic safety when performing tasks, and taking the opportunity to visit their families. At the unit, "technical days" are implemented practically and seriously".
