On the morning of August 2, the Steering Committee for Crime Prevention, Social Evils and the Movement for the People to Protect National Security in Pom Han Ward organized the 2023 National Day for the People to Protect National Security. This is a key activity of Lao Cai city towards the 18th anniversary of the National Day for the People to Protect National Security (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2023).
Attending the festival were comrade Ly Thi Vinh, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; comrade Le Truong Giang, Editor-in-Chief of Lao Cai Newspaper; representatives of Lao Cai City Police; and a large number of local officials and people.
In 2023, the Steering Committee for Crime Prevention, Social Evils and the People's Movement to Protect National Security in Pom Han Ward mobilized the combined strength of the entire political system and the majority of people to participate in ensuring political security, maintaining social order and safety, and protecting national security.
In the first 6 months of 2023, through propaganda and mobilization work, the People provided Pom Han Ward Police with 62 valuable sources of information, helping to investigate and solve 7 cases of property theft and intentional injury, arresting 6 subjects; cracking down on 2 cases, arresting 2 subjects for illegal possession of drugs; establishing records to send 28 drug addicts to compulsory drug rehabilitation centers. In addition, Pom Han Ward Police coordinated with the City Police and the Provincial Police to arrest 8 cases, 8 subjects for illegal possession and trafficking of drugs in the area; established records to handle administrative violations according to their authority in 4 cases, 13 cases with a total amount of more than 22.7 million VND; helped and educated 2 subjects to complete the drug rehabilitation program. In the first 6 months of the year, there were no serious crimes in the area, no wanted subjects.
Along with that, Pom Han Ward Police advised local Party committees and authorities to propagate and mobilize 10,145 citizens to come to the police headquarters to receive citizen identification documents; maintain good typical advanced models of security and order, fire prevention and fighting, contributing to consolidating and firmly building the people's security posture, ensuring security and order in the area.
At the festival, comrade Ly Thi Vinh, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, presented flowers to congratulate and commend the results in implementing the movement of the entire people to protect national security of Pom Han ward.
The Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission suggested: In the coming time, the Party Committee, the government, socio-political organizations and the people in the ward continue to thoroughly grasp, strictly and effectively implement the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws on ensuring security and order and building a mass movement to protect national security; innovate the content, form and measures of propaganda; promote the role of Party cell secretaries, village chiefs, heads of security and order committees, organizations and prestigious people in the community; continue to pay attention to building and replicating effective advanced models and examples, especially the model of self-defense, self-management and self-protection of security and order. The functional departments of the Provincial Police, the City Police, and the ward police force continue to guide, deploy and act as the core in implementing the mass movement to protect national security.
The National Day for National Security Protection in Pom Han Ward had many activities such as: discussing and exchanging experiences and solutions to improve the effectiveness and quality of the movement; instructing people to scan QR codes to contribute opinions on ensuring security and order; propagating laws on traffic safety; distributing leaflets on drowning prevention; performing arts praising the Party, Uncle Ho, praising the People's Public Security soldiers and mobilizing all people to participate in protecting national security.
Pom Han Ward People's Committee launched an emulation campaign and organized the signing of an emulation agreement to carry out the movement of the entire people to protect national security.
On this occasion, 4 individuals received the Medal for National Security from the Ministry of Public Security; many collectives and individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Director of the Provincial Police Department, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lao Cai City, and Chairman of the People's Committee of Pom Han Ward.
