Attending the festival were comrades: Major General Tran Van Thuong, Political Commissar of the Military Technical Academy; Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Ngoc, Deputy Director of 108 Central Military Hospital.
The “Red Sunday” program is an activity with profound humanitarian significance, taking place widely and attracting a large number of people, especially the young generation, to participate - making an important contribution to serving the rescue and treatment of patients in hospitals across the country; many patients and comrades have been saved by the precious blood from this voluntary blood donation activity.
According to Major General Tran Van Thuong, Political Commissar of the Military Technical Academy, implementing the Directive of the Ministry of National Defense and responding to the voluntary blood donation campaign in military units, over the past 15 years, the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the Academy have always paid attention to and directed agencies and units in the Academy to do a good job of propaganda and education to cadres, teachers, students, staff and soldiers to be aware of the noble meaning of voluntary blood donation activities, with the message "A drop of blood given, a life left behind", "Donate blood to save people - Your life and mine", knowing how to sympathize, share and be ready to participate in donating blood to save people, in which the Youth Union members and youth are the core to implement this program.
Responding to the President's call on the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, on June 28, 2008, the Academy officially launched a voluntary blood donation movement among the Academy's youth. After 15 years of organization, the Academy has coordinated with the following units: 108 Central Military Hospital, 103 Military Hospital, Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Tien Phong Newspaper, Vietnam Red Cross Society, Bac Tu Liem District Youth Union, Cau Giay District Youth Union to propagate and mobilize more than 15,000 cadres, teachers, students, staff, and soldiers to register to donate blood, resulting in 15,338 units of safe blood collected.
Every drop of blood donated by the cadres, teachers, students, staff and soldiers of the Academy is a noble gesture, a sharing of responsibility towards society, worthy of the tradition, the noble title of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era and the spirit of the youth "Where there is a need, there is youth - where there is difficulty, there is youth". The youth of the Academy always stands side by side with the youth of the Army, the youth of the whole country, volunteering to join hands for the life of the community.
