Ka Tum Border Guard Station is located in Tan Dong commune, Tan Chau district, with a border of more than 15km long, including 7 main markers and 17 secondary markers, adjacent to Choam commune and Chan Mul commune, Memot district, Tbong Khmum province, Kingdom of Cambodia.
The officers and soldiers of Ka Tum Border Guard Station always firmly grasp the motto of "sticking to the people, sticking to the area", combining general propaganda with individual mobilization, taking advantage of the role of organizations, prestigious people, secretaries, hamlet chiefs, clan chiefs... in propaganda and mobilization of the people. Therefore, up to now, most of the officers and people in the commune have agreed to recognize that protecting the national border is an important task, a common cause of the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire political system.
Implementing Directive No. 01/CT-TTg, dated January 9, 2015 of the Prime Minister on organizing a movement for the entire population to participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation, in the past 10 years, Tan Dong commune has mobilized 1 collective, 60 households and 108 hamlet security and order self-management teams to register to participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation.
The station and commune regularly organize meetings, exchange information, visit and give gifts on the occasion of Tet and holidays to the Cambodian armed forces and government, contributing to building a relationship of solidarity, friendship, cooperation and mutual development.
Lieutenant Colonel Pham Minh Phuong - Head of Ka Tum Border Guard Station said that, implementing economic, cultural and social development programs to build a strong border commune, the Station has promoted movements such as: "Tay Ninh Provincial Border Guard joins hands to build new countryside", "Tay Ninh Provincial Border Guard joins hands for the poor - no one is left behind", "Border Spring, warms the hearts of the villagers", "People's Border Guard Festival"...
In particular, the Station coordinated with local organizations and individuals to support and give more than 800 gifts worth 600 million VND to policy households and families in difficult circumstances; the unit sponsored 6 children in the program "Helping children go to school", awarded scholarships of 500,000 VND/month to each child, accepted 2 students in difficult circumstances in the program "Adopted children of the Border Guard Station"; built 2 border militia posts with a system of spacious barracks, planned and built residential areas adjacent to the border militia posts, contributing to the formation of on-site forces, a solid foundation to support forces on duty at the border.
Programme Taking place with many exciting cultural and artistic exchange activities, Ka Tum Border Guard Station coordinated with the People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Dong commune to present 20 gifts, worth 10 million VND, to ethnic minority households in difficult circumstances in the area.
