“Food Festival – Delicious dishes from ostrich meat”

(NLDO) - At Yang Bay Tourist Park (Khanh Hoa province), Khanh Viet Corporation organized " Food Festival - Delicious dishes from ostrich meat" with many special dishes.

On the occasion of celebrating Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20), Khanh Viet Corporation (Khatoco) organized the contest "Food Festival - Delicious dishes from ostrich meat" for union members and workers.

The program offers visitors a unique culinary space with the main ingredient being Khatoco ostrich meat, a nutritious food that is increasingly popular.

The contest "Food Festival - Delicious dishes from ostrich meat" attracted the participation of 15 teams with 60 non-professional chefs from Khatoco's affiliated units and other units.

According to the report analyzing the nutritional content of foods of the National Institute of Nutrition, 100g of ostrich meat contains 22.03g of protein, 0.52g of fat and 26.02mg of cholesterol. Ostrich meat is low in fat, has a higher protein content than chicken, beef, pork and a much lower cholesterol content than chicken, beef, pork, helping to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, overweight, obesity...

In addition, ostrich meat is rich in iron, which is very beneficial for pregnant women and people with anemia. Ostrich meat is also suitable for the elderly, helping to reduce the risk of chronic diseases and strengthen the body's immune system.

Within 90 minutes, each team of 4 members prepares 3 dishes with the main ingredient being Khatoco ostrich meat including Fillet, thigh, ostrich stomach, ostrich wings, ostrich neck, ostrich heart, and ostrich fingers.

The festival not only creates an attractive playground for teams to create new and nutritious dishes, but also an opportunity for visitors to Yang Bay Tourist Park to discover the unique flavors of this nutritious source of ingredients. Visitors can enjoy delicious dishes made from ostrich meat, experience cooking with the teams, and create new dishes from ostrich meat themselves.

At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to Khatoco Packaging Printing Joint Stock Company; the second prize to Khatoco Khanh Hoa Tobacco Factory; the third prize to Nha Trang Vegetable and Fruit Sculpture Club and Nha Trang Young Kitchen Club.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 3 consolation prizes and 2 secondary prizes including the best presentation prize and the most beautifully decorated dish prize, with a total prize value of 40 million VND.
