The Traffic Police Department said that on the first day of 2025, there were 51 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 28 people and injuring 35 people.

Of these, 50 road accidents occurred, killing 27 people and injuring 35 people; 1 railway accident occurred, killing 1 person; and no waterway accidents occurred.

The local traffic police force has inspected, detected and handled nearly 13,600 cases of traffic order and safety violations; the estimated fine is nearly 28 billion VND; 82 cars, 4,050 motorbikes, 111 other vehicles were temporarily detained; 2,603 ​​driving licenses of all types were revoked.

Of these, there were 2,789 cases of alcohol concentration violations; 3,105 cases of speed violations; 241 cases of overloading; 34 cases of exceeding the size limit; and 43 cases of drug violations.

The Highway Traffic Control Patrol Teams of the Traffic Police Department inspected and recorded 195 violations, imposed an estimated fine of VND684.8 million, revoked driving licenses in 94 cases, and temporarily detained 4 vehicles.
