On November 21, the event 'E-commerce promotes digital economic development in the Industry and Trade sector 2024' took place.

The national event on E-commerce to promote digital economic development in the Industry and Trade sector 2024 is scheduled to take place on November 21 in Hanoi.

Implementing the Government's policies and orientations on digital transformation, e-commerce development and digital economy; at the same time, to meet the practical needs of enterprises in the industry and trade sector in implementing digital transformation, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy - Ministry of Industry and Trade said that it will coordinate with relevant units to organize a national event on e-commerce to promote digital economic development of the industry and trade sector 2024 (Vietnam Digital Industry and Trade Summit 2024).

The event is scheduled to be held on November 21, 2024, at the Foreign Affairs Hotel, 33C Pham Ngu Lao, Hanoi .

The program includes 01 plenary session and 02 thematic workshops (Theme 01: "Digital transformation - Green transformation in production and energy"; Topic 02: "Trends of sustainable e-commerce development in the digital age").

The Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy said that this year's event will focus on three areas: e-commerce development; digital transformation in the manufacturing and processing industry; electricity and energy with the theme "Promoting digital transformation, green transformation towards sustainable development".

These include activities such as: Forum on E-commerce and Digital Economy Development in the Industry and Trade Sector; sideline seminars and technology exhibitions promoting digital transformation in the industry.

The national event on E-commerce to promote digital economic development in the Industry and Trade sector 2024 was held to assess and discuss the current status of digital transformation of enterprises in the Industry and Trade sector, and at the same time connect reputable digital transformation solution providers to accompany and support this digital transformation process of enterprises.

According to the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, digital transformation and digital economic development are identified as important drivers of economic growth. In 2023, Google, Temaek and Bain & Company recognized Vietnam as the country with the fastest digital economic growth in Southeast Asia with a total merchandise value (GMV) of 30 billion USD, expected to reach nearly 45 billion USD by 2025. E-commerce and Digital Economy are important pillars in the development orientation of the Industry and Trade sector until 2030.
