During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh visited Quang Ninh nine times and held a special affection for the workers and cadres of the coal industry. Bearing in mind his teachings, generations of coal industry workers and cadres have continuously strived to excel in labor and production, actively learning from and following his example.
In implementing Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW (dated May 18, 2021) of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW (dated May 15, 2016) of the 12th Politburo on promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style , the Quang Ninh Coal Party Committee focuses on leading and directing the implementation of studying and following Uncle Ho's example throughout the entire Party organization.
In production, millions of initiatives and improvements have contributed to increased productivity and reduced costs, and the miners are constantly improving their professional skills and expertise. A prime example is Pham Duc An, the team leader of the production team at Construction Site 2 (Ha Lam Coal Joint Stock Company), who has dedicated 25 years to the coal industry. With his experience and enthusiasm, Mr. An always takes the lead in all tasks, diligently guiding new workers on work skills. He also inspires his colleagues with the spirit of "Discipline and Unity." For miner Pham Duc An, President Ho Chi Minh's advice and last wishes in his will regarding the working people are the driving force for him and his colleagues in the production team to strive to overcome all difficulties and obstacles, excellently fulfilling their tasks and becoming a model unit of the company. Mr. Pham Duc An has been honored with the Third-Class Labor Medal and a commendation from the Prime Minister.
In the context of the coal industry facing major challenges, with increasingly depleted resources and ever-higher demands for safety and environmental protection, studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh is the driving force helping TKV's units overcome difficulties and achieve their annual production and business targets. This contributes to promoting the tradition and strength of "Discipline and Unity" of the mining working class and of Quang Ninh province.
At Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, during the first two years of its term, the company focused its entire political and professional system on creating a combined strength to overcome common difficulties. The company's Party Committee promptly issued numerous directives to ensure safe and flexible adaptation to maintain stable production. Not only affected by the pandemic, Typhoon No. 3 in 2024 also caused significant damage to the company's infrastructure. The Party Committee directed political organizations and departments to promptly address the damage, quickly restore equipment, and help the company's production activities stabilize as soon as possible.
Thanks to the collective efforts of the workers under the direction of the company's Party Committee, during the 2020-2024 period, the main production targets of Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company were all exceeded compared to the resolution. Specifically, coal consumption reached 9.17 million tons, achieving 101%; revenue reached 14,528 billion VND, achieving 105%; average per capita income exceeded 16.7 million VND/month, achieving 106%; and notably, profit reached 325.5 billion VND, achieving 192%.
Over the years, TKV's coal mining output has continuously increased, reaching approximately 40-45 million tons of clean coal annually. The material and spiritual lives of the workers have improved. TKV has become a strong economic group. With these exceptionally outstanding achievements, the Group was honored by the Party and State with the Golden Star Order (1996) and the title of Hero of Labor in the Renovation Period (2005), along with many other prestigious awards.
These results affirm that the cadres, Party members, and workers of the coal industry have been inheriting and promoting the historical values and glorious revolutionary traditions of the miners and previous generations, turning Uncle Ho's advice and wish: "Promote the coal industry to become a model industry for other economic sectors and make Quang Ninh province a prosperous and beautiful province..." into reality.
