What is Aeronautical Engineering?
Aeronautical engineering is the study of the design and construction of flying machines. It is divided into two separate fields: civil aeronautical engineering and aerospace engineering.
Civil aeronautical engineering is concerned with the design and construction of aircraft for use within the Earth's atmosphere. Aerospace engineering, on the other hand, focuses on the research and development of spacecraft or satellites for use outside the atmosphere.
Typically, an undergraduate degree in Aeronautical Engineering takes three or four years to complete.
With the development potential of the domestic aviation transport market, students majoring in Aviation Engineering with good professional knowledge after graduation can take on the following positions: Aviation engineering experts at Vietnamese and international aviation engineering companies: Vietjet Air, Jetstar Airways, Bamboo Airways...; Consulting and supporting aircraft maintenance, aviation services... at airlines.
Some schools training in Aeronautical Engineering
Hanoi University of Science and Technology is one of the first institutions to train in the field of Aeronautical Engineering in our country. The Aeronautical Engineering Department of Hanoi University of Science and Technology enrolls students in four ways: considering high school graduation exam scores, considering talent, considering the results of thinking assessment tests, and direct admission.
With the 2023 high school graduation exam score method, this major has a standard admission score of 25.5 points (A00; A01). The school stipulates that the tuition fee for the Aviation Engineering major ranges from 26 - 29 million VND/school year.
Vietnam Aviation Academy - In 2023, with the method of considering high school graduation exam scores, the Aviation Engineering major has a standard admission score of 21.5 points (A00; A01; D07). Meanwhile, the standard score in 2022 is not too different, taking 21.3 points (A00; A01; D07; D90).
In addition, the school also enrolls students according to 4 other methods: considering high school transcripts, giving priority to admission according to the academy's admission plan, direct admission, and considering the scores of the competency assessment exam organized by Hanoi National University.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) is one of the few schools in the Southern region that offers training in Aviation Engineering. In 2023, the school will enroll students in three ways: direct and priority admission, admission of candidates planning to study abroad in the International Transfer Program, and combined admission.
With the admission method combining many criteria (competency assessment test results, high school graduation exam results, high school grades, other competencies), this major has a standard admission score of 59.94 points (A00; A01). The tuition fee for the Aeronautical Engineering major is about 15 million VND/semester.
