This opinion cited that last October, the Department of Education and Training announced a school break when the storm had passed and the weather was sunny. Or on November 5, there was heavy rain, many roads were flooded, at around 6:40 to 7:30, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang announced a school break, at which time many parents and students who had already gone to school had to return home.
Responding to the above comments, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang said that allowing preschool children, students and trainees across the city to stay home from school is to ensure their safety when traveling and commuting; and to minimize damage caused by storms and heavy rains.
The school closure notices of the city's Department of Education and Training were issued based on information from the Hydrometeorological Station warning of heavy rain in the city and directive documents of the City People's Committee; the Command Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue and the City's Civil Defense.
In addition, the education management unit in Da Nang issued a notice of school closure based on the decision of the City People's Committee on approving the plan to prevent, combat and overcome consequences corresponding to a number of natural disaster scenarios in the area in 2024.
In which, the city's Department of Education and Training must monitor the development of natural disasters to decide to let students and trainees take time off from school to ensure safety, especially in low-lying, flooded areas, and areas at risk of landslides and rockslides.
The unit is also responsible for coordinating with the People's Committees of districts to notify kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, private universities and centers when there is an order for students to temporarily stop going to school when a natural disaster occurs.
In the coming time, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang hopes to receive your comments, support and regular attention to all activities of the education sector.
