On the afternoon of April 21, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism announced a series of activities to respond to and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, Ho Chi Minh City is entering the peak period of welcoming tourists during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, in the context of the atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) spreading everywhere. Many hotels in the city center are fully booked, while the tourism industry has also officially launched a series of meaningful activities lasting throughout 2025, arousing the spirit of pride and promoting tourism in the City.
As of April 20, room occupancy rates at 1- to 5-star hotels in the central areas of District 1, District 4 and Ben Nha Rong area have reached 95% to 100%. Of which, many 4- to 5-star hotels have been fully booked from April 27 to May 1.
Ms. Vu Thi Thanh Hien, Director of Kim Do Hotel, said: "The hotel rooms have been fully booked since April 29. In the past few days, many guests have asked to book rooms but we cannot accept more because there are no more vacancies. The demand in the central area to join in the national holiday atmosphere is increasing very high. Therefore, the hotel has planned to prepare a diverse menu to serve on April 30 to ensure the best experience for visitors. The highest room rate at Kim Do Hotel on this occasion is up to 7 million VND/night".
Similarly, at the Rex Hotel (Nguyen Hue Street, District 1), the highest class room, the presidential suite, with a listed price of up to VND51 million/night, has also been booked early. A representative of the Rex Hotel said: “We are implementing a special buffet program to celebrate the great celebration on the evening of April 30, combined with watching fireworks from the rooftop. This is a service that many guests have booked in advance.”
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that the reason why hotels in the central area are "full of rooms" is because this place is focusing on a series of events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day with a series of products such as: art performances, parades, light festivals and food festivals.
“Currently, many downtown hotels are fully booked. To get a room, residents and tourists should proactively book rooms early through reputable platforms or contact the hotel directly to ensure accommodation that suits their needs,” Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa advised.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, in addition to the central area of District 1, visitors can choose to stay in neighboring districts such as District 3, District 5, Phu Nhuan, Binh Thanh, Tan Binh... where there are many quality hotels, affordable prices and easy connection to the center via bus, electric bus or public bicycle.

On this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City officially launched a series of special tourism activities lasting until 2025 towards the historical milestone of 50 years of Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day. “This is an opportunity for the entire tourism industry to spread gratitude, honor historical values, and at the same time send warm greetings to domestic and international friends with the typical hospitality of Saigon people,” Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa added.
On this occasion, cultural and historical tourism products are strongly innovated, associated with three thematic axes: Discovering a modern urban area in harmony with nature; Experiencing unique culture and cuisine; and Learning about a creative, open, future-oriented city.
Inner-city tours, thematic city tours, night museum visits as well as combo packages of resort - cuisine - experience will be simultaneously deployed from now until mid-June in the campaign "50 golden days - Discover the hospitable and vibrant Ho Chi Minh City".
In particular, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has introduced three new products with destinations including: Thanh An commune (Can Gio district), Hoc Mon revolutionary area discovery tour and Nam Ky Luc Tinh tour (exploring Ho Chi Minh City's inner city) to experience the cultural identities, resilient spirit and sophistication of the Southern land.

In addition to introducing and promoting new tourism products, Ho Chi Minh City also launched a tourism promotion campaign for Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of April 30 with the theme “FIND YOUR VIBES”. This is not only a marketing message, but also an invitation for tourists to explore the unique emotions, vivid stories in every street corner, construction and daily life of a dynamic and affectionate city.
“Every citizen is a tourism ambassador. Hospitality, professional service and product quality are the key factors to retain tourists, creating long-term vitality for the city’s tourism industry,” Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa added.
