The Big4 banking group continues to lead the system in mobilizing customer deposits when each bank mobilizes millions of billions of VND in 2024. Apart from the Big4 group, no bank has reached the 1 million billion VND mark in capital mobilization.

Agribank is the leading bank in attracting deposits, with total capital mobilization exceeding VND2 million billion for the first time, an increase of about 10% compared to 2023.

BIDV is the second address chosen by businesses and people to deposit money when successfully mobilizing more than 1,929 trillion VND, an increase of 14.47% compared to 2023.

VietinBank ranked third in customer mobilization last year, with over VND1,603 trillion deposited by customers, an increase of 13.75%.

The remaining bank in the Big4 group is Vietcombank with more than 1,515 trillion VND, up 8.13% over the previous year.

In general, the Big4 banking group is holding 56% of the market share of deposits among the total of 26 domestic commercial banks that have announced their business results in 2024.

In addition to the above 4 banks, the Top 10 banks leading in mobilizing customer deposits are: MB 714,066 billion VND (up 25.35%), Sacombank 561,741 billion VND (up 10.92%), ACB 539,129 billion VND (up 11.47%), Techcombank 536,746 billion VND (up 17.26%), SHB 496,106 billion VND (up 11.57%) and VPBank 485,735 billion VND (up 9.5%).

MB, NCB and PGBank are the banks leading the system in terms of capital mobilization growth rate, with an increase of over 20% compared to 2023; followed by LPBank (up 19.28%), BVBank (18%), Techcombank (17.26%), MSB (16.82%), VIB (16.69%),...

On the other hand, Saigonbank ranked at the bottom of the table with a mobilized amount of VND 25,025 billion (an increase of 3.5% compared to 2023).

Meanwhile, ABBank is the only bank that recorded a decrease in mobilization with a decrease of 9.31% compared to 2023.

According to the State Bank, the average VND deposit interest rate of commercial banks in November was 0.1-0.2%/year for demand deposits and deposits with terms of less than 1 month; 3.0-3.8%/year for deposits with terms from 1 month to less than 6 months; 4.4-5.1%/year for deposits with terms from 6 months to 12 months; 5.1-6%/year for deposits with terms from over 12 months to 24 months and 6.8-7.2%/year for terms over 24 months.

The average lending interest rate of domestic commercial banks for new and old loans with outstanding debt is at 6.7-9%/year.

The average short-term lending interest rate in VND for priority sectors is about 3.8%/year, lower than the maximum short-term lending interest rate as prescribed (4%/year).
