Most recently, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam Tay Ho Branch ( BIDV Tay Ho) announced the selection of an organization to auction 87 47-seat passenger cars . All of these cars were manufactured and assembled by 3/2 Automobile Mechanical Joint Stock Company. The cars have been issued factory quality inspection certificates by the Vietnam Register.
The batch of cars is currently being stored at the warehouse and factory of the 3/2 Automobile Mechanical Company, located in Pho Noi A Industrial Park, Trung Trac Commune, Van Lam District, Hung Yen Province. The starting price of the 47-seat passenger car offered by BIDV for the entire batch of cars is 45.214 billion VND, equivalent to more than 519 million VND/car. This price is considered attractive for passenger transport businesses that are in need of expanding their fleet or replacing old cars.

Not only BIDV, recently, many other commercial banks have also continuously advertised for sale large quantities of passenger cars , mainly as collateral for loans being processed.
For example, Agribank Tay Ho Branch recently announced the auction of a batch of collateral assets related to Quang An I Industrial Joint Stock Company. This batch of vehicles includes: 55 Hyundai Starex, 5 Hyundai County, 8 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, 27 Hyundai Universe, passenger vehicles from 29 to 46 seats.
Previously, Agribank Saigon Central Branch also put up for sale 3 Thaco sleeper buses, with a total starting price of just over 800 million VND, an average of less than 300 million VND/vehicle, showing a sharp decrease in the liquidation of secured assets.

Not only BIDV, recently, many other commercial banks have also continuously advertised for sale large quantities of cars.
Not out of this trend, Sacombank Dong Da Branch also announced the auction of 4 Ford Transit vehicles, a popular vehicle in the small-scale passenger transport segment. The vehicles all have Hanoi license plates, with starting prices ranging from 409 to 517 million VND each.
In 2024, VietinBank Thai Binh Branch also put up for sale a debt secured by 36 cars of Phiet Hoc Transport Trading and Service Company Limited (commonly known as Phiet Hoc Bus Company). The list of assets includes: 16 Samco buses, 7 Hyundai 12-seat cars, 1 SamCo 29-seat passenger car, 12 Kia Morning 5-seat cars.
The fact that banks are simultaneously liquidating large numbers of passenger cars reflects the prolonged financial difficulties in the passenger transport industry, especially small and medium-sized enterprises. The aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, increased operating costs, and fierce competition from technology-based transport models have forced many businesses to scale down operations or become unable to pay debts on time.

At the same time, in the context of the trend of shifting to environmentally friendly vehicles, many old, fuel-consuming gasoline-powered vehicles are gradually being replaced by hybrid or electric vehicles. This also contributes to increasing the pressure to liquidate traditional passenger cars, especially those with low fuel efficiency or difficulty meeting new emission standards.
