TPO - This is the first time the Women's Asia- Pacific Golf Championship (WAAP Championship) is held in Vietnam. The host team has 6 athletes competing.

The WAAP Championship took place at Hoiana Shores Golf Club (Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province), gathering 95 athletes from 24 countries and territories.

The WAAP Championship takes place on the par71 course at Hoiana Shores Golf Club with 4 rounds of stroke play, in which the cut-off is based on the principle of granting the right to continue to the top 50 group on the scoreboard after 2 rounds.

Le Chuc An, a Vietnamese player at the 22nd, 23rd SEA Games, and the 2022 Asian Games, has achieved many high achievements at home and abroad. Chuc An has been playing golf since he was 6 years old. This year, Bao Chau (12 years old, Vietnam) is the youngest athlete, Nadene Gole (56 years old, Australia) is the oldest. The athletes said that the beautiful golf course in the Central region and favorable weather made them compete very comfortably.

Soomin Oh (16 years old, Korean player) started playing golf when she was in second grade. In 2024, she won many tournaments in Korea and in the Asia-Pacific region, and was in the top 25 at the BMW Ladies Championship on the US LPGA Women's Professional Tour. She is confident that her strengths when competing are "determined and focused".

The WAAP Championship winner will receive a spot at the AIG Women's Open, Amundi Evian Championship and Chevron Championship in 2025. In addition, there will be the right to participate in other prestigious tournaments such as Hana Financial Group Championship, ISPS Handa Australian Open, Women's Amateur Championship, Augusta National Women's Amateur.

WAAP Championship was established in 2018, organized by the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation in coordination with relevant units to foster talent and provide development opportunities for female golfers.
