The 7.7km Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh road connecting the expressway to the coastal road of Binh Thuan has been completed with asphalt, and is expected to open to traffic at the end of June 2024.
The Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh road project connecting Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway, National Highway 1 to DT719B coastal road was started in November 2021. The project has a total investment of 400 billion VND. |
This is the route connecting Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway, National Highway 1 connecting to the coastal road DT719B through Phan Thiet City and Ham Thuan Nam District (Binh Thuan Province), to La Gi Town (Ham Tan District). |
According to the approved design, the project is invested in construction with a length of 7.7km. The roadbed width is 37m, the road surface width is 16m. On the route, 3 new reinforced concrete bridges are built, and drainage systems, trees and traffic safety systems are invested in along the route. |
This is a key project of the province to promote tourism development and create a bypass for National Highway 1. Once opened, this route will shorten the travel time to Ke Ga Cape, develop tourism, and promote the economic strength of the sea of Binh Thuan province. |
Along both sides of the route are dragon fruit farms and gardens in Ham Thuan Nam - the dragon fruit capital of Binh Thuan province. |
According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Hai, Executive Director of the Viet Hoa contractor project, the entire main route has been paved with asphalt, and the contractor is completing auxiliary and traffic safety items. "It is expected that by June 25, the asphalt will be completed on the bridges on the route for early handover to the investor," said Mr. Hai. |
According to Giao Thong Newspaper, by the morning of June 20, the entire route had been paved with asphalt, the contractor was completing auxiliary items, painting road markings and preparing to hand over for operation. |

Mr. Nguyen Minh, Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee, said: Immediately after the expressways came into operation, the number of tourists coming to Phan Thiet increased. This is also the basis for Binh Thuan province to set a target of welcoming 9.5 million visitors in 2024. Binh Thuan province is focusing on promoting traffic connections to facilitate tourists to easily connect to tourist destinations, increase revenue and retain tourists. |
