Russia-Ukraine war today, November 11, 2024: Russia concentrates 50,000 troops, determined to wipe out Kursk, that is the assessment of US intelligence when the "cooking pots" appear.
The US intelligence agency - CIA has made pessimistic predictions about the results of the operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kursk region. According to The New York Times, the Russian army has concentrated 50,000 soldiers in the region to prepare for upcoming military operations.
US assesses Ukraine cannot mobilize enough troops
According to The New York Times, US intelligence officials are pessimistic about the overall prospects of the AFU in the Kursk region. Accordingly, the Russian army occupies important positions in this region and in eastern Ukraine. This is because Ukraine is unable to solve the problem of severe shortages of troops on the front line.
One of the interlocutors to The New York Times said that Ukraine's cross-border offensive in the Kursk region has weakened the AFU's potential.

The newspaper also said that Russia has concentrated 50,000 troops in Kursk. US intelligence noted that Moscow's main priority is not to withdraw units from eastern Ukraine, but to maintain multiple fronts, with priority given to attacks in eastern Ukraine.
Russian President Vows to “Clean Up” Kursk Region
Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier expressed confidence that Russia would liberate the Kursk region from the AFU: “Now, when we clear the territory from the enemy, you will also have a lot of work to do.”
Accordingly, the AFU has lost control of the front and units in the Kursk region are surrounded. “Attempts are being made to prevent the AFU from retreating. The surrounded soldiers, they do not even really understand that they are surrounded,” the Russian President stressed.
Former NATO leader on the future of conflict in Ukraine
Former NATO Commander-in-Chief James Stavridis told Newsweek that US President-elect Donald Trump would pressure the parties in the conflict to enter negotiations, which would see Ukraine cede about 20% of its territory, but would have a “real path to NATO in the next three to five years.”
The former NATO commander emphasized that a solution according to the so-called Korean scenario (an agreement to end the conflict between the two Koreas, establishing a demilitarized zone on both sides of the current front line) is “not the worst outcome in the world”.
Speaking about the timing of such an outcome, Mr. Stavridis noted: “A negotiated solution is not something the United States can impose, but something that the Ukrainians and the Russians must agree on.”
According to Western media, US President Donald Trump's team is discussing a new plan to end the conflict in Ukraine. During the election campaign, the Republican politician announced his readiness to end the conflict in Ukraine within 24 hours. Vice President-elect Jay Vance, who according to some sources will be responsible for resolving the conflict, stated that Ukraine will have to give up territories to reach a solution.
“NATO countries forced Russia and got what they wanted when the conflict broke out in Ukraine ,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said this week at the annual meeting of the Valdai Club. He explained that Moscow recognized Ukraine as an independent state within its former borders, but there was no talk of the country joining the North Atlantic Alliance – in its declaration of independence, Kiev declared neutrality, but in 2019, in its revised constitution, Kiev solidified its progress toward NATO membership.
“We do not agree with that,” President Putin concluded.
Kurakhove on the brink of collapse
The Russian army's offensive in the southern direction of Donetsk continues, while the newly controlled area in the direction of Ugledar is stabilizing and gradually forming a pincer towards encircling Kurakhove, the Military Summary channel reported.
Currently, the Russian side is continuously advancing south along the heights and is believed to have gained control of the first areas in Kurakhove, fighting is ongoing in the east of the town.
Regarding the war situation in the north, images from the front line show that the Russian army is advancing into Sontsivka, a few kilometers from the Kurakhove reservoir. This can be considered a serious threat to the AFU defense forces in the area. In addition, the Russian side is also gaining more land to the west to establish a large encirclement around this settlement.
In the direction of the Oskil River, the village of Borova is being evacuated by Ukraine due to the enemy's advance into the area. Russian troops are constantly advancing along the fields, they are approaching Lozova.
