Asked about the possibility of Russia joining post-election negotiations in the US, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said it depends on who will become the next US President.
According to Mr. Zelensky, Russia is cautious about the commitments from the two Republican and Democratic candidates.
If elected, US Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to continue the policies of the US President Joe Biden's administration towards Ukraine. However, Ms. Harris still has some different commitments when supporting Kiev, typically prohibiting Ukraine from using NATO weapons to attack Russian territory.

Republican candidate Donald Trump said he would end the conflict in Ukraine and a ceasefire would be in place within 24 hours. Vice presidential candidate JD Vance's plan to end the conflict in Ukraine also supports Trump's goal.
Analysts say that US foreign policy will change a lot, based on the election results, but this is unlikely to create a turning point in peace negotiations. In addition, Moscow has shown no signs of being ready to sit at the negotiating table, regardless of who becomes the "boss" of the White House.
"What Trump has put forward is just a way of creating an impression and is not based on any basis. I don't think this process will happen as quickly as Trump promises," said Thomas Graham, a foreign policy expert on Russia.
However, experts say cuts in US military aid are likely to lead to changes on the battlefield.
Graham said Russia will seek to exploit political instability in the US after the election, as well as alliances between the West.
Such instability could emerge under Mr. Trump. Typically, the US cuts military aid to allied countries, NATO, or worse, conflicts between the White House and the US Congress over military aid packages.
"If the West does not unite and does not present a common vision for the Ukraine conflict, Russia has no reason to reconsider its goals in the conflict at this time," Mr. Graham emphasized.
Experts say the scale of the war has become too large for simple negotiations between Moscow and Kiev. This is clearly a conflict between Russia and the West.
John Lough, a member of the Chatham House think tank in London, said: "For Russia, the special military campaign in Ukraine is just a means to an end. Moscow's goal is to further limit US influence on international affairs."
