Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Russia considers South Korea's sending of drones over North Korea a serious violation of sovereignty and interference in internal affairs aimed at undermining the legitimate state system.
Writing on the Russian Foreign Ministry's website, Ms. Zakharova said: "Such actions by Seoul are a blatant infringement on the sovereignty and internal affairs (of the DPRK) with the aim of destroying the rule of law and the political system of the country, denying its right to self-development."

Ms. Zakharova stressed that the South Korean authorities "should take Pyongyang's warnings seriously and stop escalating the situation on the peninsula with a reckless provocation campaign, which will further escalate tensions with more actual armed incidents."
"Securing lasting peace and stability can only be achieved through political and diplomatic means based on indivisible security. There is no other way unless the real purpose of South Korea and the United States is not aggression."
Tensions between North and South Korea have escalated after South Korea accused North Korea of blowing up roads across the heavily militarized border. North Korea earlier accused South Korea of flying drones over its capital Pyongyang.
The move comes amid heightened inter-Korean tensions and after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un designated South Korea and North Korea as "hostile states" late last year, with North Korea taking steps to destroy inter-Korean land routes.
