* Russia warned of the consequences if Israel launches a ground operation against Lebanon, saying that "advancing one meter will lead to months of hostilities, two meters will mean years of fighting, and three meters - even unimaginable," Russian Ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov said. (TASS)

* Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will visit Iran on September 30 and hold talks with President Masud Pezeshkian and Vice President Mohamad Reza Aref of the host country. * US citizen Stephen James Hubbard, 72, has pleaded guilty to charges of mercenary activities, admitting that he received money to fight for Ukraine against Russia. If convicted, Mr. Hubbard faces a sentence of 7-15 years in prison. (RIA)

* Denmark has released $194 million in arms aid to Ukraine to help Kiev bolster its heavily-stressed arsenal in the face of Russia's military campaign. The weapons and equipment will be produced in Ukraine, but funded through Danish funds and frozen Russian assets. (AFP)

* Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico visited South Korea and held talks with host President Yoon Suk Yeol. The two leaders adopted a joint statement on building a strategic partnership that includes cooperation in the fields of security, defense, economy, trade, energy and technology.

The two sides agreed to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperate in carbon-free energy industries. Fico supported the South Korean leader's pursuit of peaceful unification with North Korea based on liberal democracy and pledged to strengthen cooperation for peace on the Korean Peninsula. (Yonhap)

* The 4th joint patrol in the East Sea by naval forces from the Philippines, Japan, Australia, the US and New Zealand on September 29.

* Iran fears infiltration by Israeli spies after deadly pager attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon this month. Iran is now conducting a wide-ranging campaign to inspect all communications equipment used by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). (Reuters)

* More than 10,000 people have fled from Lebanon to Syria since fighting between Israeli forces and Hezbollah escalated this month, the head of the United Nations refugee agency Filippo Grandi said on September 30. (Reuters)
