*Indonesia seizes 5 foreign vessels for illegal fishing: Xinhua news agency quoted a senior official from the Indonesian Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries as saying on September 26 that Indonesia has seized 5 foreign vessels for illegal fishing in the country's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

*China retaliates against Canada's tariffs: China's Ministry of Commerce said on September 26 that China has launched an anti-discrimination investigation into restrictions imposed by Canada, including additional tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, steel and aluminum products.
This month, Beijing also announced plans to investigate Canadian canola imports after Ottawa joined the United States and the European Union in imposing 100% tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles and 25% tariffs on Chinese aluminum and steel.
