Ambassador Andreev's comments came after Poland's prime minister suggested this week that expelling Russian diplomats would be "easy to do".

When asked by the Izvestia newspaper about the scenario of a diplomatic severance, Mr. Andreev said that such a possibility was always there.
“Whether that will become a reality or not depends on the decision of our leadership and the Polish authorities,” Ambassador Andreev said in an interview published on May 16.
Last month, bilateral tensions between the two neighbors escalated further when Polish authorities seized a school run by the Russian Embassy there for decades.
In an interview on May 15, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki discussed the possibility of cutting diplomatic representation.
“It’s easy to recall an ambassador. And then the Russians will also have our ambassador sent back. In that case, the flow of information in both directions will be further restricted,” Morawiecki told Polsat TV.
