Neymar crosses out Messi, names the player who will receive the 2024 Ballon d'Or

Since 2007, when Kaka won the Ballon d'Or, only Luka Modric and Karim Benzema have won the award besides Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. This shows the dominance of this star duo over the past 15 years.

In the 2024 Ballon d'Or vote, Ronaldo was crossed out and Messi is unlikely to make a surprise.

Neymar added about Vinicius: "We hope that this award will return to Brazil soon and that it will now belong to Vinicius. That boy deserves this award because he is a hard worker and has suffered a lot throughout his life, but he has met all expectations and is ready to face all criticism.

Today, Vinicius has become our idol and great hero. So I am happy that he carries the Brazilian flag around the world."

Also according to Neymar, behind Vinicius will be Brazilian star Rodrygo, English midfielder Jude Bellingham and French superstar Kylian Mbappe.

"Vinicius is number one. Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham are evenly matched and Mbappe will enter the battle between those three," Neymar concluded.
