Raising political determination, speeding up the progress of Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway project

Attending the meeting were leaders of several departments, branches and localities of the two provinces of Binh Phuoc and Dak Nong, representatives of the joint venture investor Vingroup - Techcombank and the consulting unit, Southern Transport Design Consulting Joint Stock Company (TEDI South).

The North-South Expressway project in the West, Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) section, is divided into 5 component projects. In which, component project 1: Investment in the construction of the North-South Expressway in the West, Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) section under the form of public-private partnership. The starting point intersects with the existing National Highway 14 in Kien Thanh commune, Dak R'Lap district, Dak Nong province; the end point intersects with the Ho Chi Minh road, Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa section, in Chon Thanh town, Binh Phuoc province.

The total length of the route of component project 1 is about 124.13km. Of which, the route through Dak R'lap district (Dak Nong province) is about 23.1km long and through Bu Dang, Dong Phu districts, Dong Xoai city, Chon Thanh town (Binh Phuoc province) is about 101.03km long. The investment scale is 4 complete expressway lanes with a roadbed width of 24.75m; the section through Dong Xoai city is 25.5m. Particularly, the excavated roadbed and embankment sections are invested and constructed according to the scale of the completed roadbed phase of 32.25m; the section through Dong Xoai city is 33m. Expressway, design speed 100-120km/h.

The total investment for component project 1 is about 19,500 billion VND (excluding interest), under the public-private partnership (PPP) method. The expected time of basic completion is 2026, and the project is put into operation in 2027.

At the meeting, leaders of Binh Phuoc and Dak Nong provinces asked representatives of relevant units and localities to discuss and propose solutions to some problems in the process of implementing procedures related to the project.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee Tran Tue Hien emphasized: The North-South Expressway project in the West, Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) section, is of special importance to the development of not only the two provinces, but also connects the Central Highlands region with the provinces in the Southeast region. Therefore, it is recommended that relevant sectors and units further promote political determination and speed up the implementation of related work groups. All difficulties and problems related to the project must be resolved within this working week.

Chairman of Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee Tran Tue Hien delivered a concluding speech at the meeting.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tue Hien also requested the joint investor Vingroup - Techcombank and the consulting unit to receive opinions from leaders and relevant departments and branches of the two provinces at the working session, promptly complete the feasibility report and submit it to the Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee, in order to promptly report to the Prime Minister.
