NetNam appoints its first female deputy general director.

On the afternoon of March 8th, NetNam officially announced a change in its corporate leadership. For the first time, the company appointed Mr. Nguyen Vu An, a CEO born in the 1990s, as its General Director. The remaining member of the Executive Board is Deputy General Director Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong. This change marks a transition in both leadership generation and business management style.

Mr. Nguyen Vu An was appointed as the General Director of NetNam at the age of 34, making him the youngest leader in the history of this Internet service provider (ISP) appointment. This also marks the first time NetNam has boldly brought a member of the 90s generation into its senior leadership ranks.

Starting out as an IT engineer, Mr. Nguyen Vu An spent 13 years at NetNam in various professional positions, from technician to customer service representative and management roles such as member of the Strategic Management Office and Deputy Director of the Southern Branch. Prior to his appointment as CEO in early March 2024, Mr. Nguyen Vu An was the Director of NetNam's Southern Branch.

Prior to her appointment as Deputy General Director of NetNam, Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong had held various positions such as Head of Communications, Head of International Business, Director of External Relations, and most recently, Director of the Northern Branch.

Along with changes in the Executive Board members, a major change in this generational leadership transition at NetNam is the emergence of a 'Breakthrough Leadership Team' consisting of 7 members, including General Director Nguyen Vu An and Deputy General Director Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong.

Two former NetNam Executive Board members, former General Director Vu The Binh and former Deputy General Director Ngo Duc Anh, will focus on their roles on the NetNam Board of Directors in the coming period, aiming to promote investment activities, innovation, and improve the overall governance system for sustainable business development.

Mr. Vu The Binh, former General Director and member of the Board of Directors of NetNam, stated that 2024 marks the beginning of a new chapter in NetNam's development journey, with a focus on sustainable growth after its startup phase and significant successes in the field of Internet and network solutions.

“The leadership transition was planned by the Board of Directors four years ago and implemented according to a roadmap of training, testing, and transition. As veteran members who have been with NetNam for 13 to 18 years in various positions, both new leaders were chosen early on to take on the mission of founding NetNam a second time,” Mr. Vu The Binh further shared.

Representing the new Board of Directors, NetNam's Deputy General Director, Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong, pledged that, based on the company's sustainable development orientation, the new leadership will build and implement specific action plans and programs. A key objective NetNam needs to achieve in the near future is to boost revenue growth from the 20-25% of the past three years to 28-30% in the next three years.

“We will also continue to maintain our position as number one in network solutions for 5-star hotels, luxury resorts, multinational corporations, domestic/FDI businesses, industrial parks, and the education sector,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong.

For the past seven years, NetNam has been consistently chosen by the White House and the US Embassy in Vietnam as the provider of internet services and network solutions at the accommodation and work locations of successive US Presidents during their visits to Vietnam.
