Today, January 25, in Ho Chi Minh City, Kaspersky launched version 2024 of its integrated software solution including a suite of monitoring and event management functions, Kaspersky Unified Monitoring and Analysis Platform (KUMA) to help businesses and organizations stay safe in cyberspace during the digitalization process.
According to the annual report of Google and Temasek, Vietnam is the fastest growing digital economy in Southeast Asia for two consecutive years 2022 and 2023, achieving a growth rate of 20% compared to the same period last year. Vietnam's digital economy is on track to reach about 45 billion USD by 2025, driven by strong expectations for economic growth.
In line with the rapid digital transformation in Southeast Asia, Kaspersky experts have made predictions about the region’s cybersecurity threat landscape in 2024. According to Kaspersky’s report, the threat of phishing, data breaches, and geopolitically motivated cyberattacks are expected to continue to target organizations and individuals in the region.
To help businesses and organizations stay ahead of these evolving challenges and demands, Kaspersky is introducing an upgraded security information and event management (SIEM) solution for KUMA security and event management for 2024.
KUMA is a unified dashboard for monitoring and analyzing information security incidents. The basic program consists of the following components: One or more Collectors that receive notifications from event sources and parse, normalize and filter and/or aggregate them if necessary; a Correlator that analyzes the normalized events received from the Collectors, takes the necessary actions with the active list and generates alerts according to the correlation rules; the Core includes a graphical interface for monitoring and managing the settings of system components; the Storage contains normalized events and registered incidents…
The advantages of KUMA can be summarized as follows: High performance (more than 300k EPS per KUMA instance); Low system requirements (virtual or physical environments and up to 10k EPS AiO on a single virtual server); Scalability (flexible microservice architecture with support for each component); Unified web console interface (multi-party UI dashboard for every task); Instant integration (With third-party products and Kaspersky solutions); Low entry threshold (no knowledge of special query languages or writing rules required)…
“Threat actors are increasingly using diverse tactics to carry out sophisticated targeted attacks. Therefore, it is essential to have a system that can monitor network activity, such as security intelligence and event management. With the launch of this upgraded version of KUMA, we hope to empower technology professionals to handle complex cybersecurity incidents with unprecedentedly expanded detection and response capabilities, to improve the safety of Vietnam’s cyberspace,” said Mr. Ngo Tan Vu Khanh, Director of Enterprise, Kaspersky Vietnam.
