Some developments related to the Russia-Ukraine war:
NATO pushes the world to the brink of global war
Norwegian professor Glenn Diesen believes that NATO is pushing the world to the brink of global war.
“ As NATO brings the world to the brink of global war, we should at least have a discussion about what is happening, instead of hiding behind meaningless slogans like ‘Does Ukraine have the right to defend itself?’ ” Mr. Diesen said.
Allowing Ukraine to launch strikes with Western long-range weapons on Russian territory would directly draw NATO into the conflict, the expert noted.
However, he stressed, in the West “there is no more rational discussion” because any sympathy or understanding of Russia's position is considered treason.
Mr Diesen also questioned how deeply NATO could get involved in the conflict before crossing the fine line between proxy conflict with Russia and direct confrontation.
NATO "softens" on Russia
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg sees dialogue with Russia as necessary to end the conflict in Ukraine.
“ One thing is clear: to end this war, at some point it is necessary to restart dialogue with Russia ,” Stoltenberg said in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung. At the same time, he said that it must be based on “Ukraine’s strength.”

Following the attack by Ukrainian armed forces on Kursk, President Putin declared that it was impossible to negotiate with those who “indiscriminately attack civilians, civilian infrastructure or try to create a threat to nuclear energy facilities.”
Ukraine sends US, UK list of targets to attack Russia
Reuters quoted two unnamed European diplomats as saying that Ukraine had handed over to Washington and London a list of potential targets in Russia that it planned to attack if it received formal Western permission to use Western long-range missiles.
According to unnamed officials, the Ukrainian government plans to launch Western missiles at Russian military command posts, fuel and weapons depots, and troop concentrations.
There are currently discussions in the West about lifting the ban on the Ukrainian armed forces using Western long-range weapons to carry out strikes deep into Russian territory.
Russia continues to warn the West
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Moscow would react if the US lifted restrictions, allowing Ukraine to use long-range missiles in its conflict with the country.
Mr. Ryabkov stressed that Moscow is ready and will react accordingly. According to him, the West has made a decision on whether to allow Ukraine to attack Russia with long-range missiles and has informed Kiev about this issue.
However, he did not give specific details about the decision, stating that because Moscow's verbal warnings to the West were ineffective, the country would have to take other measures.
In addition, Deputy Minister Ryabkov also announced that Russia will launch a comprehensive response and take military-technical measures in case the US deploys medium-range missiles in Japan.
Ukraine's army is severely depleted
Recently, Ukrainian commanders and officers said that the situation of soldiers deserting and disobeying orders is becoming a serious problem, especially with new recruits newly sent to the front line.
“ Not all recruits abandon their positions, but most of the newly mobilized forces do. When they arrive, they have to see how difficult the situation is, facing a lot of drones, and being under heavy artillery and mortar fire from the enemy, ” said a Ukrainian commander.
According to Ukrainian commanders and officers, many soldiers are determined not to return to their bases if they survive their first deployment. “They will abandon their posts, refuse to go to the front lines or even try to desert.”
